Amanda Ghassaei at Instructables has created the world's first 3D printed record.

The process requires taking the wave data from an audio file and transferring it to a 3D virtual record via code. Using the 3D model of the record the printer can then interpret the model data and weave its magic.

The 3D printer itself is 600dpi, one of the highest fidelity machines available. However even at such high printing resolutions it's still very lo-fi in comparison to a traditionally pressed record.  As a result, when the record is played the quality is quite degraded, but it does have a certain charm. The record will play on any normal player.
