A 12-week creative thinking course that’ll make you. And break you into an industry of ideas.

AWARD School is a short course held all across the country to help anyone interested in developing their advertising skill and conceptual abilities. Run by the Australasia Writers and Art Directors Association, AWARD School is held outside of work hours and no experience is required to join.

AWARD School lecturers and tutors include some of the industries most talented minds.
 

WHAT’S NEXT?

Attend the FREE Information Night, 5 February 6:30-7:30pm, in your closest capital city or for regional applicants online, register here. It’s not compulsory to attend.
 

HOW DO I APPLY?

Applications open on the 6 February at 10:00am. All application instructions will be included in the application pack. You will be asked to respond to four questions:

  1. Why are you applying for AWARD School?
  2. Find a bad print ad and make a better print ad for the same product/service
  3. Create a print ad according to a brief (available 6 Feb)
  4. Create a print ad according to a brief (available 6 Feb)

Applications close on the 20 February at 5:00pm
Submission instructions will be indicated in the application pack published on the 6 February 2020.


IMPORTANT INFO

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the regional program, the applicant’s residence should be more than 50km from the fringe of a major city in all States with an AWARD School Program (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide). The Communications Council reserves the right to deem what is considered fringe or not. The regional program is available to all NT, ACT and TAS residents.

FEE

A flat fee of $1540 inc GST per person will be charged for the regional program. Hardship requests will be taken into consideration. Please contact us for more information.

JUDGING APPLICATIONS

Regional applications will be judged along with the partnering state/city.

LECTURES & TUTORIALS

Lectures will be shared via a Vimeo link for a limited time.
Tutorials will be held online on a Thursday night by appointed regional program tutors

FOLIO JUDGING

The regional students will be judged during the same judging session as the metro students by the relevant state.

IN-PERSON EXPERIENCES

Students are invited to all of the following experiences that are held in the relevant metro area,  if they are able to attend:
Information Night, 5 February 2020
Graduation Night, 29 July 2020

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER

Winners are selected within each State, regardless of whether they are from a Regional or Metro Area. 

The AWARD School Committee reserves the right not to award a State/Territory winner if the final body of work presented is not representative of the standard and quality that the AWARD School is known for. This is to avoid winners by default in States/Territories where we have a very small number of applicants.
