While many award shows allocate awards based on points, the AWARD Awards include entry-based Special Awards which allow a fairer playing field for agencies and individuals.

While many award shows allocate awards based on points, the AWARD Awards include entry-based Special Awards which allow a fairer playing field for agencies and individuals.

Rather than favouring those who are able to enter the most, or can to afford to enter every category, the Special Awards place more value on the quality and range of projects developed and entered.

This year, AWARD has also introduced creative rankings for each of its Special Award categories. The top 10 performers across agencies and individuals will be highlighted at the awards ceremony and on the AWARD website.

SPECIAL AWARDS CATEGORIES

Individual Agency of the Year

This award is for Individual City Offices of a Network – or Independent Agency. If the agency has worked on a project with another office in a different city, they can still enter that work – but the prize will go to the ONE office nominated in the entry. 

Members: $750 | Non members: $1,000 | International: $900 

Creative Leader/Leadership Team of the Year

For Chief Creative Officers and Executive Creative Directors. You must have entered your agency into the above ‘Individual Agency of the Year’ category as well to be eligible in this category.

Entry fee: $330 

Creative Director or Team of the Year 

For Creative Directors, as individuals or duos.  

For a team to enter, ALL the work must have been originated by the TEAM, not a combination of two individuals’ work.

Entry fee: $330 

 

Individual Creative or Team of the Year 

For creatives (writers/art directors/designers), as individuals or a duo, who have worked in the industry for 5 years or more. 

For a team to enter, ALL the work must have been originated by the TEAM, not a combination of two individuals’ work.

 

Entry fee: $330 

Agency Producer of the Year 

This award is for agency producers only and can be any work that was produced by that individual during the eligibility period.

Entry fee: $330 

Individual Director of the Year 

Means Individual not Collective. If two directors always work together they can enter as a team.

For individuals who have worked in the industry for 5 years or more. 

Entry fee: $330 

Emerging Creative or Team of the Year 

For creatives (writers/art directors/designers), as individuals or a duo, who have worked in the industry for 5 years or less. 

For a team to enter, ALL the work must have been originated by the TEAM, not a combination of two individuals’ work.

 

Entry fee: $100 

Emerging Director of the Year

For individuals who have worked in the industry for less than 5 years. 

This is for Individuals not Collectives. If two directors always work together they can enter as a team.

Entry fee: $100 

Indigenous Creative Talent 

For creatives (directors/writers/art directors/designers), as individuals or a team, who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. 

For a team to enter, ALL the work must have been originated by the TEAM, not a combination of two individuals’ work.

Entry fee: $50

Agency Network of the Year 

The Agency Network of the Year is calculated through a points system based on how many Gold, Silver, Bronze and Finalist entries a brand was credited with during that year’s show.

No additional entry required. 

Production Company of the Year

The Production Company of the Year is calculated through a points system based on how many Gold, Silver, Bronze and Finalist entries a company was awarded during that year’s show.

No additional entry is required. 

Marketing Team of the Year

This award must be entered for the marketing team of a single brand. Agencies are encouraged to enter their clients into this award or clients are invited to enter themself.

Entry fee: $330

Account Team of the Year 

This award recognises the whole team who worked on a particular client. 

Entry fee: $330

Creative Champion of the Year (formerly Chief Marketing Officer of the Year) 

This award recognises an outstanding contribution to the development of creative campaigns by CMOs / Heads of Marketing etc. 

Agencies are encouraged to nominate their clients or clients can enter themself.

 

Entry fee: $330

Rising Star Award/Breakthrough Agency

This award is for up-and-coming agencies or agencies who have significantly improved on their metal tally or may not have been successful at the AWARD Awards in the past.

No additional entry fee required.  

Media Agency of the Year 

The Media Agency of the Year is calculated through a points system based on how many Gold, Silver, Bronze and Finalist entries a company was awarded during that year’s show.

No additional entry is required. 

The Grand Award

The Grand Award is judged by a panel of jury chairs in a live discussion, and selected from the gold-winning entries of every category. Judges may use their own discretion and deem work ineligible for the Grand Award if it has been undertaken pro bono, and not from a legitimate client brief.
