Calling all aspiring storytellers and creative thinkers

In the advertising industry...
...storytelling is at the heart of everything we produce.

It's one of the reasons why for the past two years AWARD School, our industry's highly-respected education program, has been working to develop greater participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates through our AWARD School Indigenous Scholarships Program. AWARD School is a 12-week course for aspiring storytellers and creative thinkers.

With this said, this year AWARD School is excited to introduce an Indigenous Application Workshop.

This customised 90 minute virtual workshop gives participants a concise overview of the AWARD School application process and covers four modules including:

Module 1 
Asks participants a simple question. “Why apply?” This module gives participants tips on how to create an original and standout response to get noticed. Also, learn tips and tricks from our Indigenous Scholarship alumni.

Module 2 
Covers the topic “What makes a great ad?” Hear from an industry leader.

Module 3 
Gives participants a simple print brief that they create an ad for "Tackling the creative brief". Participants to the workshop will receive a practice brief one week before and they’ll submit their work prior to the day. Gunditjmara man Nic Molyneux and his creative partner Benjamin Mann from DDB Melbourne will review the ideas submitted and provide some practical advice.

Module 4 
Gives you some practical tips on what you can do between now and when the AWARD School application opens (11 February 2021).

Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to 'virtually' meet National AWARD School Heads Mandie van der Merwe and Jack Nunn.
